The Fort Lupton Police Department seeks qualified officers dedicated to excellent service.
Starting salary is $24.00 - $27.60/hr.
                              $49,920.00 - $57,408.00/yr.

Basic Qualifications


  • Must be Colorado P.O.S.T. certified (or currently attending a P.O.S.T. approved academy)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must possess a valid drivers license
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Disqualifiers


The following is not an all inclusive list that may disqualify you from being a Fort Lupton Police Officer. Other standards may make you subject to disqualification.
  • Conviction of a felony
  • Conviction of any crime involving domestic violence
  • Use of Marijuana within the past 5 years
  • Use of any illegal drugs, except Marijuana, with the past 10 years
  • Conviction of any alcohol, controlled substances, drugs or other illegal substance related driving offense within the past 5 years
  • Arrest, conviction of, or deferred prosecution or deferred judgments for reckless driving within 5 years
  • Release or discharge from the Armed Forces of the United States under dishonorable conditions
  • Any history of Brady violations

 A ride along will be required, this will be scheduled upon completion and passing of the written examination.

  • Computerized Voice Stress Analysis (CVSA) or Polygraph Exam
  • Medical Assessment
  • Drug Screen
  • Psychological exam

After Hired


Once hired, an intensive 14-week Field Training Program begins where the new officer is closely evaluated by experienced training officers.
