What Is SilverSneakers®?
Health Services SilverSneakers® Fitness Program is a comprehensive older-adult physical activity program that addresses the needs of the Medicare (usually 65+) population. SilverSneakers® members of a sponsoring health plan receive a membership to the recreation center facility as well as the opportunity to participate in SilverSneakers® group exercise classes. SilverSneakers® luncheons are open to anyone who has a CURRENT SilverSneakers® membership. Quarterly, we get together and have a fun lunch, sometimes with a speaker. There is NO charge for lunch but reservations are required to help plan for numbers.

This fun, danced inspired workout improves cardio fitness, with easy to follow moves set to energizing music. SilverSneakers® Classic:
Multi-level, equipment-based, total body conditioning classes are designed to increase strength and flexibility. Participants move to the music through a variety of exercises for the upper and lower body, including skills for daily living activities. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are provided for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
It will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing Yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of motion. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
Activate your aqua urge for variety! SilverSneakers Splash® offers lots of fun shallow-water moves to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required and a special SilverSneakers® kickboard is used to develope strength, balance and coordination.
Improve balance and strength. Is designed for fall prevention and is suitable for nearly every fitness level. The movements focus on specific exercises that build strength around the ankle, knee, and hip joints. You will also use agility drills and exercises to improve balance. A chair may be used for balance and support. We will start to incorporate this format in with the classic and it will eventually have its own class.
